September is Hunger Action Month

All throughout September, the North Texas Food Bank will stand together with Feeding America and its extensive network of food banks in raising awareness on the issue of hunger. Hunger Action Month unites diverse communities who each share a commitment to closing the hunger gap, and have pledged to take action and work toward proving more healthy meals to food-insecure neighbors. Locally in North Texas, there are many ways you can get involved, and help hungry neighbors during this month-long campaign. We’ve compiled opportunities for every day of September at www.ntfb.org/ham, and included below are a few highlights to consider:

September 7 – 22Canstruction

Canstruction is currently on display now through Sunday, September 22 at NorthPark Center. View the various ‘Heroes Against Hunger’ cansculptures, and make a donation to vote for your favorite – $1 buys 1 vote (and three meals for our hungry neighbors). All proceeds support NTFB. To learn more about Canstruction and to vote, click here.

September 12Hunger Action Day

Wear orange in support of Hunger Action Day! After sundown, observe iconic Dallas skyscrapers illuminate orange and transform the downtown skyline. Upload your photos to social media and include the hashtag: #HungerActionMonth.

September 19North Texas Giving Day

Celebrate community-wide philanthropy and donate to NTFB on North Texas Giving Day. Schedule your Giving Day contribution now, and it’s not too late to become a SuperFan and create your own NTFB FUNdraising page. To learn more about North Texas Giving Day, click here

September 20HARVEST

Attend NTFB’s annual HARVEST event, and gather with fellow hunger fighters for an evening of live entertainment from DJ Lucy Wrubel, one-of-a-kind auction items, specialty cocktails and a movable feast from Dallas’ top chefs and restaurants including Le Bilboquet, Tulum and Parigi. Your support of this special event provides critical hunger relief for our hungry North Texas neighbors in need. To learn more about HARVEST, click here.

While September is Hunger Action Month, your support is needed year-round to help our neighbors who struggle with hunger every day. To learn how you can help support our critical hunger relief work, during this month-long campaign and beyond, visit www.ntfb.org/get-involved.
