Because of You, A Single Mom Has Hope

ae-for-blogEvery day, caring friends like you make an enormous impact in the lives of our hungry neighbors. Andrea’s story is just one example of how your gifts help families escape hunger.

For some single parents, it can be a challenge to provide for all their family’s needs. Andrea knows this firsthand as she works to raise her 2-year-old daughter, Nicole. Although Andrea has a job as a cashier, the money she makes isn’t enough to cover most of her family’s expenses — especially food and other items for her growing toddler.

If it weren’t for the help she has received from Seven Loaves Food Pantry at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, a North Texas Food Bank Partner Agency in Plano, Andrea would still be struggling today. Because of your generosity, her first visit to the pantry — and each one after that — ended with her being able to take home enough food to supplement her hourly income.

“It makes my life a little easier,” Andrea says, explaining what your gifts mean to her and her family.

In addition to the food she receives at Seven Loaves, Andrea can pick up another item no parent of a toddler can do without — diapers. As she struggles to keep up with rent, utilities and other essentials, this is one of the many regular expenses that’s often out of her budget.

Because the need is so great, especially in suburban cities like Plano, your generosity is truly appreciated.

“I appreciate all the help you give,” Andrea adds. “You help all the people that really need food.”
